Adventures with Jonny

Introducing our friend Jonny!

On Saturday we drove to visit Jonny who lives in Sale, on the outskirts of Manchester, he knows how to have a good adventure!

We went to Lyme Park. As we drove towards the peak district ( Lyme Park is on the edge of the peak district) we noticed white tips on the hills next a little frosting on the grass, then all of a sudden snow was all around us. It was so exciting! I love snow.

Jamie and Jonny have a lot of Love for each other, It's beautiful...

I love dry stone walls, I especially like the styles that have been set up as a way of going over them.

The house was closed so we went for a lovely walk with beautiful views.

You know how I said Jonny is good at adventuring? Well he never forgets to bring awesome treats...
Cupcakes!!!
I love our adventures with Jonny, He is a great man of God and he always helps me and Jamie by  approaching all of our problems, wonderings and doubts, with wisdom and kindness.
He is also very fun, and always brings cakes. Now that's what I call a good friend!

socks!

My finished socks! I finished them weeks ago but I have been very slow at taking pictures of them.
So what do you think? I am quite proud but I keep seeing places that they have gone wrong. (look at my left big toe)
I wanted to start knitting my jumper soon, but I have a problem. A few months ago I found a pattern, bought the wool and the right needles, I went to start knitting it last week, but i have lost the pattern.
Anyone know a good beginners jumper pattern for a man?

Moel Famau

I love hills and mountains, I think it comes from growing up in Hastings possibly the hilliest place ever (I know that is not true but it is hilly). When I first moved to Chester it was difficult finding my way out of the city as I didn't have a car so i got huge regular cravings for hills. Now that we have a car, a satnav and some local knowledge I get to regularly walk up hills and mountains. Whoop!

Yesterday Jamie and I climbed Moel Famau a nice small ish mountain in Wales. We parked in a really beautiful village called Cilcain, and then conquered the mountain.

I look goofy but I am ready for adventure!
The view at the top was awesome. With views like this I have to stand back and thank God for his creativity!
I made friends with this sheep.
It has been so warm recently that the daffodils are sprouting!
The top of Moel Famau is just left of the telegraphy pole.
The most beautiful village pub! Unfortunately it was closed. We will go back and have a pint of cider by the fire.
I love these little cottages. One day my house will be this beautiful.

30 before 30 challenge.

I have seen a few bloggers taking the 30 before 30 challenge.
I thought it was a cool idea and could help me be more focused about my 'free time' and I LOVE lists. Crossing things off list is possibly one of my favourite things to do.
So in no particular order, here is my 30 before 30 list...

1.       Go to New York
2.       Learn how to cook a good roast
3.       Knit a whole jumper
4.       Have a baby
5.       Grow my own rhubarb
7.       Give up meat for a month
8.       Enter a baking competition
11.   Learn to surf
13.   Climb all three of the UK’s biggest mountains
14.   Make a dress
15.   Read the whole bible again
16.   Run in a 5 or 10k race
17.   Go to Paris
19.   Adopt a dog
21.   Go skinny dipping
22.   Save 10% and give 10% for at least a whole year
23.   Go kayaking
25.   Go back to Italy
26.   Do an evening course
27.   Find and join a contemporary dance class
28.   Watch the sunrise and the sunset on the same day
29.   Buy a house
30.

For some reason I can't think of a 30th, instead of just shoving something in I have decided to wait until I have some inspiration.

I will keep this blog updated when i have completed any of these things and maybe the process too.

Each of these things have a different reason and purpose for being on the list.
No.20 is on the list because it may convince me to do it. We got married October 2009 so it's ridiculous that I haven't done it yet!

I used to dance a lot and I think I was quite good at it. So I would love to find a class again. But so far I can't find one in Chester :-(

Jamie, my Mum and Dad and I are going to Iceland in a month so if all goes well we will have seen the northern lights really soon!

I'm not going to explain them all it would take ages.

Our city

Jamie and I had a whole day together last Friday. We had to take the car into the garage, which was unfortunately quite expensive, but we had a lovely day anyway.
We had yummy porridge in Pret a Manger. Jamie is modeling the lovely pret coffee cup.
 That famous clock.
I love the canal, it provides a great straight foot path straight through the city.

It has been so windy here that no umbrella could with stand it.
This is my favourite restaurant at the moment. Artichoke is lovely, great yummy food, friendly staff good prices and a lovely atmosphere.
I love this couple, They have matching-ish coats, the same colour shoes, are walking in time and are both holding something red.
Love it!!!
Chester is a cycle city, I really enjoy cycling but i am terrible at the whole bike maintenance thing, my bike has had a puncture for months now. I keep trying to get jamie to do it for me but he insists that i should learn. My argument is i don't need to learn because he can do it! Seemingly i am loosing this argument because I still don't have a working bike.

New years resolutions

- Be spontaneous ( I just google-imaged spontaneous and got some very weird results!)

- Start a blog - Check!

- Eat less sweets - Not doing well so far...
These are definitely my favourite, I can demolish a bag in under 10 minutes on an average day, under 5 if I'm feeling hungry.

- Worry less, lots less

-  Get better at taking pictures. These are two of my favourites.

- Do the second Sock...

Tuesday 3 January 2012

So to begin...

This is the first sock I have ever knitted. The second is in progress...
